Empowering Women to Lead the Future of Agribusiness

Across Zambia and beyond, women play a critical role in agriculture—from farming and food production to processing, trade, and agribusiness leadership. Yet many still face barriers to resources, markets, knowledge, and opportunities.

Sustainable Agriculture Training

We equip women and youth with the knowledge and practical skills needed to succeed in modern agriculture. Through training in climate-smart and regenerative farming methods, including innovative techniques such as hydroponics, participants learn how to increase productivity while protecting the environment. Our programmes promote sustainable food systems that strengthen food security, resilience, and long-term agricultural growth in rural communities.

Vocational Skills Development

Economic empowerment begins with practical skills. Our vocational training programmes provide hands-on instruction in trades such as tailoring, carpentry, bricklaying, welding, and digital skills that are in demand in today’s job market. By equipping participants with employable skills, we help young people and women build sustainable livelihoods, start small businesses, and create new opportunities for themselves and their communities.

Financial Literacy and Economic Empowerment

Financial knowledge is essential for long-term success. Our programmes teach youth and women how to manage income, develop savings habits, access cooperative banking, and make informed financial decisions. By building strong financial foundations, participants gain the confidence and tools needed to achieve economic independence and long-term stability.

Youth Education and Literacy

Education is a powerful tool for transformation. Through community-based initiatives, we support youth and adults in developing essential literacy and numeracy skills that open doors to employment, entrepreneurship, and lifelong learning. By strengthening foundational education, we empower individuals to participate more fully in economic and community life.

Leadership and Personal Development

Strong communities are built by strong leaders. Our leadership programmes help young people develop confidence, emotional intelligence, teamwork, and communication skills that prepare them to lead positive change. By nurturing personal growth and civic engagement, we empower the next generation to become responsible leaders in their communities and beyond.

Community Engagement and Advocacy

Lasting change happens when communities work together. We collaborate with schools, families, community leaders, and local organisations to design solutions that address real community needs. Through advocacy and partnership, we promote inclusive development, community participation, and policies that support sustainable progress for all.

Collaborating for Lasting Change

From Local Roots to Global Reach

At Nkonka Women in Agribusiness (NWAB), we believe that meaningful and lasting change is achieved through collaboration. By bringing together women farmers, agribusiness entrepreneurs, industry leaders, development partners, and policymakers, we create a powerful network dedicated to strengthening opportunities for women across the agricultural sector.

Our collaborative approach connects grassroots women in agriculture with national, regional, and global partners, creating pathways for knowledge exchange, innovation, and sustainable economic growth. Through shared expertise, strategic partnerships, and collective action, we help women-led agribusinesses overcome barriers and unlock new opportunities.

By working together, we address the challenges that limit women’s participation in agriculture—while building programmes that promote capacity building, market access, leadership, and inclusive agricultural development.

Together, we are cultivating a future where women are not only participants in agriculture, but leaders driving innovation, prosperity, and sustainable transformation across the agribusiness landscape.
